Porini Lion Camp

Porini Lion Camp is situated along the Ntiakitak River in the Olare Orok Conservancy, only a few hundred metres away form the main Reserve. The camp is in prime position for monitoring the Ridge, Ngoyonai and Motorogi Prides, and lion sightings are frequent.

The Camp is one of only three members of the Olare Orok Conservancy, allowing for low density tourism and excellent game drives. We have seen that lion in the Olare Orok Conservancy are doing extremely well - not only are numbers high, but prides are large and well structured.

Porini Lion Camp is sister to Porini Mara Camp, based in Ol Kinyei Conservancy. Both camps are ecofriendly bush camps that have a reduced impact on the environment.

Jake Grieves-Cook, owner of Porini, has been instrumental in creating the conservancy model that has been replicated across the northern Masai Mara region today. Jake is spokesman for the Kenya Tourism Foundation and a front runner in conservation.
